Internal news into portal

Hi,

I have asked to pull news headlines from different internal news sites and display them in a page in portal.The internal news does not have RSS feeds, so cannot use XML iviews. I am aware that such a requirement can be fulfilled by XML, XSLT but do not know exactly how to achieve the same. I seek guidance from this forum.
