Unable to start CMS.

Hello Experts,

We are currently on BI 4.1 SP7 and unable to start the CMS hosted on Oracle DB. It's a standalone environment which was previously working, but now it's failing with the below mentioned error.

33007 Failed to decrypt object 100 using cryptographic key ID: 4.
35101 The root server reported an error Initialization Failure. (Reason: Failed to decrypt object 100 using cryptographic key ID: 4.Failed to decrypt object 100 using cryptographic key ID: 4. Error decrypting InfoObject ).

The object ID 100 seems to be of cluster key. We have tried updating the cluster key, but now somehow its failing with incorrect cluster key.

It's also not allowing to reset the cluster key from the SIA properties.

KBA referred:

2300566,1881266,1613058, 1639053

We would like to avoid recreating the database.

Kindly assist.

Regards,

Diego.

Hi Denis,

Thanks for the response.

I have checked most of the KB's (already shared 4 referred KBA) however its doesnt refer to any possible solution if the cluster key cannot be reset. There has been a migration of the DB from one node to another node of same Oracle version.

As far as the CMS DB is concerned, I don't think it's dead as we are able to connect & fetch data directly from the DB. Only issue seems to be of cluster key. Is there anyways we can directly reset from the DB ?

KBA 1981991 is possibly removed by some chance hence not able to view it.

Diego

What had lead to this issue ?
It can't just start on its own.

Also, this could happen when there is no CMS DB where you pointing or CMS DB is gone/dead. KBA 1981991 (please do research prior to posting, per rules of engagement)

There are at least 4 more KBA's with that error.
