How to round up pick request to full SU quantity

I have the scenario where MRP creates an STO for an SLOC to SLOC transfer. The quantity is based on actual production demand (eg. there is no rounding).

However, in the source SLOC where the pick is to happen, I need the TO to be for the entire quantity of the SU. For example, say the STO has the quantity of 2 shirts. A box can contain max 24 shirts. From earlier picks, that box (SU) now contains 15 shirts. I need that pick TO to be for the full SU quantity of 15 shirts. And for IM/WM to stay in synch, it would appear that the STO should have been adjusted for 15 shirts prior to the GI.

In a nutshell, I'm trying to avoid 'piece picking' and want the handling to only be done at the box level. We are using SUM and but not HUM.

Is this a completely custom enhancement in ECC WM ?

Thanks, Vlad

if you do not want piece picking then you should take all measures to have full boxes only and try to find a solution for full boxes instead of trying to solve the issue also for those boxes which are only partially filled.

Partially filled packaging is always creating headaches and there is rarely an automatic standard solution and usually manual intervention is needed.

This means a) instruction to the workers not to open a box and only send full boxes, and if the find orders that do not have the quantity of a full box then give the orders back to be changed before picking is carried out.

b) setting the delivery unit in the material master sales view, this will control that a sales order can only be created for this quantity or a multiple of this quantity, this means you will not get deliveries for quantities less than a full box.

c) adding rounding rule in the MRP view to get a requirement automatically rounded to the quantity in the box.

We wound up doing custom enhancement around the rounding value.
