Exclude safety stock from net requirement calcultion

Dears,

In the below screen, it is showing that safety stock is deducting the available stock :201k is the stock and 40k is safety stock and system is saying available only 161k ..i dont want system to do this and need 201k (system should not consider the safety stock ...how to do this configuration

Hello

Your request does not make sense. If you don't need to subtract the safety stock from the available quantity, then you don't need a safety stock at all and you should remove it from the material master.

Valid point , but we need to update the same in our material master for information

i found one answer in SCN, but need to check if it will work or not

With a safety stock availability % defined in customizing, MRP will not generate a new requisition to cover the safety stock requirement only, but it will include it in the net requirements calculation when generating a new requisition to cover another requirement, so I don't think it is a solution for you.

Maybe you can try to use a BAdI to exclude the safety stock from the net requirements calculation. See the blog below for details:
