BPC 10.0 SP20 : reports in EPM Excel showing only parent hierarchy

Hi BPC Experts,

I have a question about reporting in EPM Excel :

I would like to create a report from scratch with ACCOUNT Dimension in row but that will only show parent members at first and no base-level members. Users can afterwards double click on the last parent member to expand them and see the base level members.

So for instance we have the following hierarchy (from IFRS starterkit) :

TBS - Balance sheet
.... TA000 - Total assets
..... TA100 - Non-current assets
...... TA110 - Property plant and equipment

......... A1110 - Lands and buildings
........... A1111 - Lands and buildings depreciation

I would like to create a report from scratch that will only show the parent members at first and the base level members are not displayed except if the user double clicks to expand the hierarchy. So the result of the example would be :

TBS - Balance sheet
.... TA000 - Total assets
..... TA100 - Non-current assets
....... TA110 - Property plant and equipment

A110 is not displayed and so on for the whole hierarchy in the report. I have checked several posts about parent members but all the questions I have read so far are not really related.

I have tried to use "Excluded members" on the hierarchy base-level by editing the report. It works to remove the base level members but the base level members cannot naturally be shown anymore. If I remove the "Excluded members", then the base level members are all displayed which is not what I am trying to do.

What could be the solution ?

Thank you in advance,

Dat

Sorry, but requirement is strange. Do you want to show only parents on any level? Or only up to some level?

In general parents can be shown using filter CALC=Y
