IDES on R/3 4.C SR2

Hi,

We have a server with :

W2K / MSSQL 2000 / SAP R/3 4.6C IDES

I reinstall the server with the:

W2K3 / MSSQL 2000 / SAP R/3 4.6 SR 2

After the installation, I realize that the IDES was not included on the SR2's CD...

Now, I want to know is there any possibilities:

=>to add the IDES on my new installation from my first version R/3 4.6C CD? without reinstalling all the server?

=>or export my client (800) from the old server and import it on the new server?

Thank you very much for your assistance.

I don´t know what you mean with "IDES was not included"? There are two separate installations (mainly exports) for the 4.6c installation and another one for the IDES installation.

If you used the first one, the system is "empty". Since an IDES system also contains cross client customizing, you can´t import the client from the IDES system. Additionally you would need to make sure, you have exactly the same support package level on IDES and non-IDES.

I suggest to restore your IDES from a backup, if you don´t have it, then, well - you will need to reinstall

I want to install an IDES 46C SR2.

For this, first I used the documentation R/3 Installation on Windows 2000: MS SQL SERVER (Release 4.6C SR2)

And I followed the next steps:

-MS SQL SERVER 2000 SP4 (51031281)

-SAP R/3 4.6C SR2 (51014012)

-Release 4.6C SR2 Export (4 CD) (51013953)

=> Now, the server is running but he is empty (NO IDES)

After that, I don't know if it's possible to Install the IDES with the DB-Export (7CD) (51014399) on my system SAP R/3 4.6C SR2? and how do it?

Thank you for your assistance.

re-install from scratch, it`s the easiest solution and less complicated.

it would be possible - but why?...i'd rather follow Eric's suggestions and start from the beginning (or rather from the point where the database instance is to be installed)... this time use the ides cds instead of the normal export cds...
