Batch Search procedure Step & Counter

Hi Team,

I'm not understanding below statement; Please help.

Area : Batch Management, t-code : OPLG.

"Batch search procedure is created to carry out the step by step procedure to find out the particular batch.The Search will be conducted in the sequential manner. First it searches in the counter one strategy and then it moves for second counter strategy type."

In OPLG ; there are two field called step & counter. With these two field as key field, i can able to assign multiple Condition Type for one search procedure.

My question is;

01. Why we are defining multiple Condition Type for one search procedure ?

02. As per the above statement; "First it searches in the counter one strategy and then it moves for second counter strategy type". A test case is having, first counter strategy type as (Order Type/Plant/Material) where second counter strategy type is (Order Type/Plant/Movement Type).

If first counter strategy type fails to determine any data, how system will behave. Will it automatically goes to second counter strategy type in background ?

But in our example, at this point of time, for second counter strategy type, Movement type is Unknown. How system will take input value of movement type to search a batch.

Other-words, Please explain E2E Batch Search Procedure and field in OPLG screen.

Regard,

Dinesh Kumar V.

    Hi Dinesh Kumar,

    In case of Batch Search Procedure, Counter number does not have any significance
    This has significance in the Pricing procedures
    Please find the below attached 2 screen shots of the same
