LP090 - No production supply area is assigned to the work centers (work cen

Dear madam/sir,

We encounter a problem once we try to perform Material Staging by means

of Pick parts. The BOM of our assembly “P069 ASS” contains (among others)

a component “COMP-W-STAGING” for which we have entered a (Production)

Supply Area “ZFAM” (RC29P-PRVBE) and a Production Storage location “020”(RC29P-LGORT). Please note we have NOT assigned our (Production) Supply

Area “ZFAM” to our relevant Work Center “ASS SU” (P3000-PRVBE; is empty).

Further, we have created a Control cycle for our Plant “200” and our

Supply Area “ZFAM” for which we have entered our Warehouse number “021”,Storage type “100”, Staging Indicator “1” (Pick list item/Pick part), and

indicator Dynamic Storage bin (PKHD-NKDYN).

Since our component Material “COMP-W-STAGING” is managed in Batches, we

have set MARC-KZECH to “2”, this following Note 396279: “…setting

MARC-KZECH to '2' is useful and recommended if you are using pick parts

and dynamic storage bins.”

Now, if we create a Production Order (CO01) for our assembly “P069 ASS”,release it, and try to save it, the system reports:

“Error during WM material provision

see log

Do you still want to save?”

We do not save and Goto>Logs>WM Material staging. There, the following

error message is displayed:

No production supply area found for work center ID ASS SU

Message no. LP090

Diagnosis

No production supply area is assigned to the work centers (work center ID

ASS SU) used or the production supply area is not defined in the bill ofmaterial.

The production supply area is copied from the work center. If the

production supply area is not defined in the work center it is copied

from the reservation (using the bill of material).

Procedure

Make sure that the work centers used for the WM-PP interface are assigned

to a production supply area otherswise the production supply area must be

defined in the bill of material.

This makes no sense since we have INDEED defined the (Production) SupplyArea in the BOM. Can you please tell us what went wrong?
