How can I make a material hold ordering from the vendor until a particular date in the future?

At our company we will not being using a piece of equipment for 1.5 years. We don't want to restock the warehouse with spare parts for this equipment until we start using it again. How can we make SAP hold off on creating a purchase requisition until a specific date in the future?

you change the MRP type to ND and add a reminder for the particular day in 1,5 years in your Outlook calendar to change the ND back to the earlier MRP type.

Of course this does not prevent people from creating manual requisition. To stop this too you need to define a material status and assign it to your material master.

There's no way that SAP can do that automatically without needing to use a secondary application like Outlook? We have 100+ materials that won't get used for the next 1.5 years. I'd rather have SAP do that instead of relying on a person to remember. What if that person leaves the company?
