How to Import IDM 8.0 delivered package without impact your customized packaged

Hi All Expert,

We just updated the IDM 8.0 SP3 and now we need to import the newest delivered packages. All our standard packages had modified by our consultant since we started using the IDM.

I understand we should always copies of SAP standard packages when doing changes to them, can I rename all the packages and import the newest delivered package?

Anyone has an idea how to "combine" or the best way to fix this issue?

Hello there,

as far as I remember from the training (we aren't on 8.0 yet), if you rename a package, you will break the links other packages have to it.

So wouldn't it be best to import the new packages under a new name and than check the changes and implement them into your custom packages?
