Lumira 2.0 Not Showing Data When Published to BI Platform

Hi,

Just experimenting with Lumira 2.0 Designer, I`ve built a quick demo using a UNX Universe as a connection on my machine. This works fine, however, when publishing to the SAP BI Platform, the document opens fine, but shows no data. The environment is fine (i.e. anything created with Lumira Discovery is fine) but the document created with Lumira Designer. I have a feeling I`m missing something but can`t find any infomation anywhere. Are there any obvious things I`ve missed in the settings etc?

You say the connection is 'on your machine'? How is it on your machine and not on the BI Platform exactly? You're using a managed connection and the connection tests ok on the server? For example another document type (say Webi) can connect to the same UNX and return data when the document is refreshed inside BI Launchpad?

Yes, Webi reports work fine with the same connection \ Universe.

On my machine, as in built a Design Studio dashboard on my machine.....that works fine when previewed. Published to server, returns no data, then installed connection servers, onto my node running Lumira Server, and it briefly worked until I rebooted. I would have assumed that would be a change in port of the services since the reboot, but all service ports are hard coded....very very confusing.

I see. So it suggests you did not install ALL the BI Platform components on the node where you're running Lumira Server?

I STRONGLY recommend to :

  • install all the BI Platform components (in add/remove programs if on Windows) - including the CMS, WACS etc. the lot. And Install these on ALL the nodes in your cluster. It doesn't mean you need to run, or even have them all defined in the CMC. You can just 'delete' them in the CMC if you accidentally added them to the node.
  • install all the Lumira server components (in add/remove programs if on Windows) the lot. And Install these on ALL the nodes in your cluster INCLUDING the Web application server (if that is a different machine to others). Again it doesn't mean you need to run any of the Lumira services on some of the machines.

I think that should resolve your issue. Regards, Matthew

Hi Tammy,

Is the server add on a different component to Lumira Server for BI Platform? I thought the servers (i.e. design studio and Lumira) were unified in Lumira 2.0?
