Allowed Channels in Transaction Type?

Hi,

Excuse me for my ignorance, but I was wondering if someone please could explain the "Allowed Channels" functionaliy in the definition of Transaction Types in IMG (CRM 5). I do not have the impression that this only makes the transaction type available for Mobile Sales for instance as without this flagged it is also available.

Hi Sebastiaan,

This customizing needs to be done in the same IMG entry where the transaction type was created.

Under the definiation of transaction types, there would be another entry called " Allowed channels for transaction types".

You need to select Mobile Sales as an entry.

Thanks for your reply. However, I just want to know if this is mandatory when you want to use the transaction type with Mobile Sales? I checked our Mobile Client and it seems the transaction type is available in Mobile even though the Allowed Channels has not been set. Do you know what effect this actually has.

We have done an upgrade from 4.0 to 5.0 and as far as I know this option was not available in the previous version.

Please advise.

Hi Sebastiaan

As long as there is no entry in the table, everything works fine in all UI's, but as soon as one entry is done, you need to maintain all UI's where this tx. should be maintained. If there are not too many of them, I would recommend filling them in order to have the correct and complete customizing.
