Batch jobs after shutdown

We have a planned system shutdown coming up and we're not clear on whether batch jobs maintain their cycle once the system is back up. If we have planned jobs at 10pm while the system is down - and then the system comes back up in the morning - what happens to those jobs the next day? Do they run as soon as the system is up or do they wait until 10pm the following night? Any input on the best process for batch jobs during planned shutdowns would be appreciated.

The Jobs will run at the same time it was scheduled once the system is UP.

This is just like how a Mobile phone operates, you set a reminder for a birthday and you switch it off for 3 days (the day before the birthday, On the day of the birthday and the day after the birthday). Once you switch it ON, the reminder will alert you only the next year.

Similarly the Job will run only at the time it has been scheduled and not immediately after the system is brought UP.
