I tried installing Crystal Reports 2016 last night and the installation failed citing, "Windows 7" prerequisite failed. In reading further I noticed it said I had to have Windows 7 Service Pack 1, which is precisely what I'm running; I checked my system details to make sure. So, only because inquiring minds want to know, what is keeping it from installing. I nees this up and running yesterday. Please help.
There is another KBA you can try
and the resolution suggest to look for product.seed.xml in the installation package, then
1. Edit product.seed.xml
2. Find AllowedSuffix
3. Find:
<arg name="Property" value="Windows2008Above"/>
<arg name="AllowedSuffix" value="SERVER"/>
4. Change SERVER to WORKSTATION
5. Save File
6. Run setup.exe
