Dear All,
I am making a query in BEX Query Designer.I have made 2 hierarchies on 0profir_ctr and used them both as input variables. One of them is active ofcourse. But when I run the report I get a warning in selection screen that system will NOT interpret input coz there are more than 1 hierarchy on profit_ctr. But when I remove one of the hierarchies from the query the warning does not occur in selection screen. Why is this? Any documents on heirarchy usage for reporting??

Rathish,
You are restricting profit center based on two hierarchies - any particular reason.
The warning occurs because BW will not know which one to take since the hierarchy is not fixed but is actually two hierarchies.
The reason is also that the Query becomes complex as to which hierarchy is to be applied first.
Ideally it is recommended to restrict based on one hierarchy alone.
But then quite interesting as to why you would want to restrict a characteristic by two variables on two hierarchies. - you can also look at a unino hierarchy for the same containing values from both hierarchies.

u can create another variable for displaying the 2nd hierarchy on prft_ctr.
