Dear
Pls any one give the solution for my below enquiry . In ECC6 i have created the St. Ind as XXX-XXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX.
While attempting to create WA-WS as example the F.l agst the Str. Ind the system gives the F.L as badly WA--W.
Is it neccesary to maintain the -- code if we are not entered full codes.?
We would like to keep only one - symbol b/w F.L
Thenna
Hi Thenna
As the first Hierrachy is 3 digit , & you have only used WA(i.e 2 digits) the problem is coming.
So first create the topmost FL with 3 digits & then proceed for the next level with configured separator i.e in your case
You should stick to your hierarchy levels & those are always perceived as meaningful

Hello Thenna,
you do not need to maintain the -- code in your functional location. Lets assume that you maintained your structure indicator like this:
XXX-XXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX
1 2 3 4 5 5
Any entries like A or AB or ABC will create a single functional location at top hierarchy level and you are not forced to fill in three characters for the first hierarchy level. SAP wont accept any entry like ABCD because the 4th character is defiend as -.

Hi,
can u explain me clearly how u have defined the hierarchy levels for this structure becoz it will depend on hierarchy levels.
