Asset Module Fiscal Year Change

Greetings,

My FI team is just attempting to run a query via SQ01 using /SAPQUERY/AM07 info set to view data on assets from 2007 and we are receiving the message...

Fiscal year change not yet made for company code US10

Message no. AB 059

Diagnosis

You have not yet carried out a fiscal year change for company code US10 , although the current system date is in the new fiscal year.

Procedure

Carry out the fiscal year change for company code US10.

My issue is that I know I can open the next fiscal year via AJRW however my team is not ready to close period/year yet. If I open the 2008 year via AJRW will this have an ill effect on my team's ability to close 2007?
