Movements from Inventory management, AR - compression

Hello,

We have the Init and deltas in the infocube (movements - 2lis_03_bf). We are loading and using only the movements and NOT stock initialization (2lis_03_BX) or revaluations (2lis_03_UM) . Now it is required to compress the data in movements Infocube because of volume of data in F fact table and performance reasons. I have gone through couple of SDN forums and 'How to... inventory management' related to this, mostly likely it is talking about the the combination of stock(bx) and movements(bf).

Since we are using only the movements(BF), how the compression execution should be, either the 'No marker update' enabled or disabled? What are preventive things needs to be taken care before compression. How the data will be validated after compression to make sure the data is correct without any inconsistancies.

Account Receivables Infocube holds non-cummulative keyfigure with 'NCum. value with NCum value change'. Here too, the same question as either 'No marker update' enabled or disabled during compression.

Thanks

Sree

Alex.... Thanks for your response, i will compress the data with 'NO marker update' disabled.

Can anyone respond as the AR also compress with 'NO marker update' disabled.

Thanks

Sreedh.

I think the reason that you need not the BX data source to setup the initial stock is your initial stock is equal to 0. it means your initial stock has already included in material movement document.

This has already meantioned in "how to ... Handle Inventory.." doc.

My proposal to compress the data is to disable the "NO marker update" option. it means you use marker update.

Hope it helps

Alex.
