My client is facing a issue, where he wants to returns the material to plant XYZ (Initially it was sent using STO from plant ABC), we are returning using another STO. Issue is they wants to transfer the materials/pick from blocked stock in ABC and put in blocked stock in XYZ. Also is there any way where we can avoid the materials to be going through stock in transit. The reason they want to pick/put from blocked and avoid materials from stock in transit is because the materials are showing as available for planning in APO, they want to avoid these materials to be going through planning as these are returned materials.

I understand we can put the materials in blocked stock in XYZ at the time of GR by changing changing the stock type to blocked stock.

Not sure what could be the best possible solution.

Hi All, Is issue and receive stock from “Blocked Stock” is standard for return STO/ PO. how did you achieve the same in your scenario.

According to me, deselecting Stock in transfer from the MRP checking rule could be the best solution since the Planning doesn't want this to be taken into account while the transfer posting is happening between the Plants.

Thanks rosh for the reply. But in this case all stock in transit will not be considered in the planning. as per business they want to avoid only those stock in transit which are returned or damaged.

Hi,

Your requirement seems to be strange and there is no direct option in standard as of my knowledge. You may check the feasibility of development. If you go for development, you need to identify how to to distinguish whether its a normal STO or return STO. You may think of creating a return STO (return indicator) in case the plant want to return the item to the other plant - this will trigger a different item category in delivery. Based on PO stock in transit, you may modify the ATP. Refer the note:

Hi,

Thanks prasoon for your inputs.

For distinguishing between normal and return STO was thinking of preparing a return STO document type and may use a custom movement type, through this movement type we will find the return stock and will filter from going to planning.

any suggesstions??

Hi,

Yes, new document type will be an option to differntiate. However, the existing document type itself can be used with return indicator and you can very well validate the PO based on the return PO indicator in EKPO table. Also, I dont see any benefit with a custom movement type - you can go with the standard movement types itself.
