Indexing Data with TREX : Check

Hello all,

In the portal, we want to index data to be available by search in the portal. I ve look around in sap , and i think i had to go to the trex monitor. I ve got to system administration@system configuration@configuration@content management@repository managers@file system repository. There, for the root directory , i ve set Z:/MYPATH TO THE FILE , because the data i want to set are on another disk only accesible by the network.

If this is looking to be a good path, do you know how to check if the data are effectively reachable? Does i have to create an index or something like that?

Hello all

after some further investigations, i have found that the data i wanna reach are on a windows system, and that the portal is on a solaris system. Does this will lead to some other trouble? Or can it be the cause of my previous problems?
