BPC 10.0 NW Business Rules for different periods

Dear Experts,

I have a question, how to customize in BPC 10.0 NW Business process rules for different periods.

I would like to have one rule for the months consolidation and one rule for the year end.

How can I say BPC to take the different rules for different period consolidation, is there anywhere a time which I can link to the rule?

Thanks for you help

Daniel

Hi Daniel,

I've never tried this but the Other Dimension Filter may work.

See Eliminations and Adjustments Rule for Legal Consolidation

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_bpc10_nw/helpdata/en/b9/bceda8f53d4bc9bb772da27f576c89/frameset.htm

Under features:

Other Dimension Filter: A string in this field indicates filters or special restrictions on other dimensions. For example, if you have a user-defined dimension called Product and you want to run an elimination for only one of its members called Pro1, you would enter Product = Pro1.

Make sure you have these notes implemented:

2266174 - Fail to validate consolidation rule with DIMLIST value in 'Other Dimension Filter'

2139209 - Enable parent node or DIMLIST value for 'OR' relation of field 'Other Dimension Filter'

Hi Daniel,

If the business rules are related to automatic adjustments(Eliminations and adjustments) business rule, you could put a filter on OTHER DIMENSION FILTER for the period which it needs to be execute alone at the year end.

<<<STRIKETHROUGH - DO NOT CONSIDER>>>>If in case it is Account Based Transformation rule, which is ran through a script logic, you could execute the business rule at the year end with the help of XDIM_FILTER statement on MONTHNUM property. <<<STRIKETHROUGH>>>>

"you could execute the business rule at the year end with the help of XDIM_FILTER statement on MONTHNUM property" - Are you sure??? What is the relation between XDIM_FILTER and *RUN_PROGRAM CALC_ACCOUNT???

Hi Vadim,

Apologies, I thought the we can send in the scoped data to *RUN_PROGRAM CALC_ACCOUNT, in the same way we do for BADI, but in reality it doesn't work.

P.S:- There is no Strike through available to strike the data.

We can use SELECT and FOR to prevent running *RUN_PROGRAM CALC_ACCOUNT for specific months

You can use script statements to run specific rules for specific periods. But you need to provide detailed info.

Hello Vadim

thanks for the quick answer. Do you mean I can do it with logic script for running the specifick rules?

When I run the consolidation from the consolidation monitor in bpc is it working also? Is there How to paper for this?

I am not expert in logic script and in bcs I can do this with different methods but not here.

Would be thankful for your help.

Thanks Daniel
