I am setting up a rather straight forward configuration of the SAP Web Dispatcher that will be used to provide access for our distributors to some integrated ITS transactions running on our SAP ECC 6 backend system. The SAP Web Dispatcher will be set up in our DMZ. The SSL port configured for it will be 1443. The message server port on the SAP backend system for the Integrated ITS will be 8106. The Web Dispacther is configured for SSL termination. My question is what other ports must I have configured thru the firewall so that the distributors can execute these ITS transactions. Do I only need port 8106 open thru the firewall between the Web Dispatcher and the backend system? Or do I need addtional ports for the ITS applications? Your help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Best regards,
Russ Cook
Hi,
You need to open also the HTTP port of your ECC system because the web dispatcher will act as a reverse proxy.
If your ECC listens for HTTP on port TCP/8006
PC -- HTTPS 443 --> Webdispatcher -- HTTP 8006 --> ECC ICM ITS
Webdispatcher -- HTTP 8106 --> ECC Message Server
Hope this helps,
Olivier
