Error when query filter values in Webi report don't have underlying data- Filter Values transported

Dear all,

We have an issue in running Webi report in BI Launchpad, the Webi report does not show any data in the report and errors.

"ErrorCode: 256, SQL Processing error" - when executing a Web Intelligence document based on HANA Calc View with filter values(Universe not required/used as we are in BI 4.2)

It doesn’t show the data for an Entities which have data, and the BI platform errors with a message, that it is not able to find dimension values for attributes(Entity Group which are used in filters) of Entities which don’t have underlying data. These Entity groups are not fetched by query filter selections in PRD as there is no underlying data for the entities yet in system. These filter values were set in DEV and QA system where they have underlying data and transported to PRD.

Example :

Entity Grp 1 – has 10 Entities and this Entity Group is used in report filter in Query 1 - these Entities have data.

Entity Grp 2 – has 15 Entities and this Entity Group is used in report filter in Query 2 - does not have data for any of the Entities in the group.

The system errors with a message that it is not able to find Entity Group GL Grp 2, which is used in the filter of the Query 2 .

FYI, we merge all the ‘queries’ in the ‘report layer’, to extract data as single report/ file.

Finding

The report seems to work only if data is available at-least for one of the Entity in all Entity groups.

We expect it show a message, that the data is not available for some queries (display the query which uses the Entity group in filter for which data is not available) but report the data for those Entity groups for which data is available.

Additionally we have few entity groups used in filters of a query and some underlying entities have data but not others.

Is there any other way of avoiding this error ..? and display data for those which has data.

Thank you very much if you had a chance to look at this scenario and give a thought/give your comments.
