Can i use transaction BD21 to trigger idoc for material in MM01

hi,

Whenever i am creating a material in transaction MM01 , i need to trigger an idoc and send it to XI.

So can i use transaction BD21 to trigger an idoc for the created material. or is transaction BD21 used only to trigger idoc for a changed material i.e in MM02
