hi

what is the differnce between material class (001) and class type (300) configurable class

Question 2

suppose i want to create material master

of car and i have variants of this car

like maruti 800 black colour

maruti 800 silver colour

and while creating the po for car i want to see

the caracterisitics of car in po print preview

so that my vendor can know which variant of car i want to purchase

question 3

as i said above i have a lot of variant of my product and as the crahterisitc of product changes the valuation also changes accordingly

ex i want to purcashe maruti 800 LX

IT COST LESS THAN

IF I GO FOR MARUTI 800 VX

SO I WANT TO DO SEPARATE EVALUTION IN MY COMPANY FOR THE DIFFRENT VARIANT

so canu please tell me how to map this sceneario in sap 4.7 ee

For Question1.

The characterstics are assigend to material.

The materials are assigned to a class.

The classes are assigned to a class type.

For Question2.

For printing the Abaper's help is required to retrieve the value.

For Question3.

Use tr.code CU01 to define the dependency.

well thanx a lot for ur reply but

i know how to create a material master by assignig a class to it in classification view

but my question is if iam using a class type 001 then will i be able to see the characterstics in po

because i need to tell the vendor that i want

balck colour car

and model type lx

otherwise i am simply writing the name of material in po and not mentioning the value of charaqcterisitc then purpose of creating the is defeated

hi,

c when u have mentioned colour as one of the charactersitc in ur material class, while making the GRN, it will ask u to mention all the characteritics.

here when it comes to PO, u can have the same to appear in PO print out too.

u need to approach ur ABAPer to have the classification data in print program to appear in the PO Print.

i agree with u but thing is that is iam assiging the class type 300 to my material then the charactersitics r coming automatically but if i assign class type 001 then nither iam able to assign the characterisitcs to the material in po nor the values of the characterstics r coming in po

so can u tell me what is the relevancce of material class 001

hi,

001 is material class charactersitic and 300 is variant which is as per your requirement.

can check the charactersitic value's assigned to ur class in CL03.
