RFC Function Modules issue transferring large OTF file

I need to transfer the output of a Smartform (large OTF file) using an RFC enabled FM between 2 systems.

My FM works fine if there's no logo on the output but fails when the logo is there as the file size increases considerably.

Has anyone else had this kind of problem and how it was resolved? Or suggest a way of getting round it?

"fails"? Could you clarify?

RFC itself is pretty robust, so I'd look at the sender or receiver. I've tested up to 100MB RFC payloads without issue. Easy thing to try is sending to a local RFC destination and see if it is received OK.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for your reply, good to know about your tests/payloads.

The exception is Others, a colleague has suggested it could possibly be a Time Out issue.

Don't think it's the receiving system as it's not getting to my break-point which is the first statement but it does when I create & transmit the same output without the logo.

OK, so try it with a local RFC destination (i.e. the system sends to itself).

You could also check OS level RFC error logs in AL11, in DIR_HOME, look for any dev_rfc... files with a timestamp that corresponds to your attempt.
