BATMAS Idoc extension -sap PO

Hi Experts,

My Scenario is SAP ECC(IDOC)-->PO-->JDBC

we are using BATMAS03 Idoc and need to add an extra segment

Below are the issues faced during development

1)sap does not allow us to extend the BATMAS idoc

2)ABAP'er tried to add the segment at run time and was successful in generating the segment(Checked via we02) but that structure will not be available for PO for mapping --So when i import the standard idoc the Z-Segment will not be available

3)Instead of above approach we also Tried to use the IDOC as XSD and using XSD tool i added Z-Segment and again imported the Idoc back to PO ESR as XSD-But here the namespace of standard idoc is different from the imported XSD-IDOC

and will the above work in mapping (Runtime)??? I doubt

Please suggest what should be done for this scenario

I have gone Through the above link.But i felt it is not that simple.

do you know any altrenate solution on this?

Hello Guru,

One way what I have in mind is write the file using file port in AL11 then pick it from there using PI and process it.

I don't think without extension IDOC scenario will work as it will look out for IDOC metadata.
