Communication user- Interactive & Non interactive login

It is said that for Communication User type logon with SAPGUI is not possible. But whether the system checks for Expired or initial passwords depends upon the logon method(Interactive or Non interactive)

What does Interactive and Non Interactive Logon mean here?

    See SAP Note 622464:

Users of type COMMUNICATION are subject of password expiration control but not able to use SAPGUI. Well, in such a case it cannot be guaranteed that a password change dialog is performed.
