As a rule, the system automatically determines the planned depreciation for the current fiscal year by means of the depreciation keys entered in the master record. If you need to specifically set the amount of depreciation, the system offers a manual depreciation forecasting option. This means you can manually increase the planned values managed for the asset. In short manual depreciation lets you manually plan amount of depreciation for each period ny ABMA. In this case your depreciation key should be of kind MANU which does not forcast depreciation automatically. on the contrary ABAA, Unplanned depreication is also a type of manual depreication which lets your take off book value in any given period. Also in this case you can continue using the same depreication key after you have done ABAA. While if you go with ABAA and change your dep key to MANU, you can not switch back to regular depreciation key that was preciausly assioned and which was for automatic forcasting of depreciation. I will use ABAA if i want to take off $x amount of value from book value in given priod with out changing useful life and dep calculation method.

I hope this helped. Assign points if this was useful.
