Shipping point usually is always equal the plant you are sourcing the material from it dosent have to be unless you are using multiple shipping points within a plant. Are you generating these deliveries from a sales order? If so this config. is pretty easy and your sales document will make the shipping point = the plant. Let me know if you are creating deliveries from SO's and if so when I get in on Monday I will point you to the config. for this.
As far as S/D is concerned Outbound delivery without shipping point is not possible.Shipping point is part of delivery header.Any item relevant for delivery in sales order can not be delivered without shipping point.
