workflow trigerring

hi all,

i have developed a custom workflow for the leave approval and its working fine except that there is a decision step in the workflow which the initator can use for withdrawing his/her leave application, my problem is that as soon as the person submits the leave application the withdrawal workitems gets displayed, so is there any way of trigring that particular step with some delay so that the workitem doesn't gets displayed immediately.

Thanks

    Hi saurabh

In the task which gives decision to withdraw there should be "Requested Start" tab page. Specify the delay time for creation of work item in that page and the work item will get triggered after that time is reached.

You can also do the below solution.

before the decision point element of workflow include a task which will put the current time into a variable . create another variable which is "say 10 minutes greater than current time" .Now create a if condition element which will check if current time is equal to the second variable that you created .If it is not then loop it till it is equal.

    Kindly award points if useful.

    Hi,

    >>as soon as the person submits the leave application the withdrawal workitems gets displayed>>

Where is he submitting the application? is it by executing some workitem in SAP Inbox itself? if yes, your above problem is due to 'Advance with Dialog' which actually provided for 'dialog process chain' concept.

When you have dialog workitem in sequence and if 'Advance with Dialog' is enabled in the first workitem, after executing first workitem if the the same user is also a receipient of next workitem then this new workitem will appear immediately in the inbox.

To solve your problem, in the first workitem step go to 'Details' tab disable 'Advance with Dialog' option.

In your case, if the creation/submission of leave is not by executing workitem in SAP Inbox , i cant see any possibility your case !! i guess you must be submitting your leave by executing some workitem in SAP invbox itself !!

    Hope this helps you !!
