Hi DS,
Please have a look at the eroor message which you have pasted
com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception: (102) RFC_ERROR_COMMUNICATION: Connect to message server host failed Connect_PM TYPE=B MSHOST=vngsap1 GROUP=PUBLIC R3NAME=EC6 MSSERV=sapmsEC6 PCS=1 ERROR service '?' unknown TIME Sat Jan 05 11:56:42 2008 RELEASE 640 COMPONENT NI (network interface) VERSION 37 RC -3 COUNTER 1
1) Have you defined the entries for the message server in the services file .In windows its at ../system32/drivers/etc/services in linux its /etc/services.
2) Add the entries for your message server say sapms<instancename> <portnumber of message server>
Thanks
Pankaj

Hi,
The error clearly shows the failure in the RFC communication.
Please check the RFC configurations in the backend system as well as Services -->JCO Provider in Visual Adminstrator of the portal system.
thanks,
Vivek.
