variable weekly off

hi, all

my client requires a work schedule where there is no fixed weekly off. i.e. employee may have weekly off which is varied. no shift planning is implemented. let me know whether subsitituition will help out here. current system settings are sunday is a weekly off. please suggest me how to make the system flexible so that any of the weekdays can be fixed as a weekly off.

I assume to create a workschedule with 30/31 days in a month are working days and creating a absence type "weekly off " . when ever an employee has a weekly of that day user will enter this absence type.

please guide me how to proceed.

hi, amit.

thank you verymuch for the reply. as you suggested 2 ways one with substitution and other with 7 different work schedules. first one seems to be useful. since while hiring the employee we fix a work shcedule and can not be changed.

can you please eloberate a lil how to work with substitutions. please make it clear in the following areas

1) I will create a substitution type weekly off.

2) do i need to change the work shcedule where the sunday is fixed as a weekly off OR you want me to change the workschedule with all working days.

if i make work shedule with all working days and when ever an employee has a weekly off then I can enter this substitution type and remaining days are payroll days.

please correct me if I am wrong.

Hi,

You can use one of the following methods:

1) Substitution: create a day-off substitution and maintain sunday as day-off for all. This substitution would be used whenever an employee takes any day other than sunday as day-off.

2) Work Schedules: Can u do with creating 7 different work schedules with different weekdays as day-off. This will be useful if there is a pattern in weekly offs for each employee.
