Data source IP change for Multiple Crystal Reports

I have about 500 Crystal reports where I need to change IP of the data source.

Then I need to change the recurring instances to use also the new IP.

Is there any easy way to do the Mass update or only SDK?

There is no easy way to do this, except manually or via SDK.

However, why would you ever use IP for the data source or ever ?
Why not use DNS or even hosts file , so you have easy control over FQDN and machine names and their IP's and never run inito a situation like that ?

This is a question for the reports creators :). I jumped into such an environment and need find a solution because there is no time for long break in production to do the changes. I would also like to prevent such situations in future, so best would be to convert the reports to CRE and use managed connections, but the data source IP is actually IP towards ERP :(.

We have found only 2 ways to do this... one is redirect IP on NAT, second is the SDK...

If you use the SDK to do this, you could potentially set up a Hosts file on the BOBJ servers with an entry for the new IP and then set the reports to use that name instead of the IP. This way, if it changes again all you have to do is update the Hosts file.

Also, converting to CRE is not always simple task and, while CRE is getting better, there are some things that "classic" Crystal can do that CRE can't.
