    Hi,

+/dev/tty: No such device or address+

Which means that the backup device is not responding. The device is not properly inserted into the tape drive could be possible reason or there is no tapes present in the drive for backup.

    With regards

    Sudha

    Hi Amit

BR0218E Checking label on volume in device /dev/rmt1 failed

It appears to me that the tape already has some label which is preventing this tape to be used.

    Do the following:

brbackup -i show => post the output

What is your backup cycle? Send me the init.sap file

This is something related to tape locking.

    Clean the tape

    Regards,

    Gokul B

    Hi,

This problem is not due to tape initialization problem as I have mentioned that the backup was working fine with brtools. This was failing in DB13 and problem is now solved by providing some access rights.

    Thanks and Regards,
