error in Database Instance

Hi , we are installing ECC 5, after starting the Database Instance it's giving this error Oracle instance termnated ,SQL statement or script failed. DIAGNOSIS: Error message: ORA-01092: ORACLE instance terminated. Disconnection forced

hi,

for ecc5.0 we need oracle 9.2.0.4.0 means u can do patch minimum to 4.

oracle 9i is not maintained any more (extended support started 08/2007!)...why not start with oracle 10g?

First - did you do as advised an looked in the logfile?

Second - following the official documentation, you should install the latest patchset and all interim patches for Oracle before continuing. Oracle 9.2.0.1 is VERY old.
