BOM not exploding from Kanban

Hello,

We are having a problem when we scan a Kanban with subcontracting components the BOM's are not exploding. So we are creating the orders for the suppliers but we are not getting the message internally to send the subcontracting parts to the suppliers.

Right now we have to manually go to ME38 and explode each BOM.

If you have any ideas for this please let me know, even if you are not sure...any direction right now would be helpful.

Answer:

Subcontracting with Kanban can only be used with a PO tied to a contract. No scheduling agreements.

I had to create a BDC of the ME38 process to handle exploding the BOMs.

Subcontracting: Note that replenishment with scheduling agreements is not possible for scheduling agreements with item type L (processing with subcontracting). Hi

Also check for the BOM valid from date. it should be before the lead times and scheduling margin keys period. Ex: if lead times and SMK comes around 10 days and if u wanna explode BOM today then the BOM should be valid from atleast 10 days before from today.

Hi Matt,

The BOM is exploded if BOM is released. Go to CS02 Check the BOM header and see the BOM status it should be released.

Secondly also see for the Component which is required as Final Component after subcontracting should have special procuremnt key as 30.

I hope that will work as BOM explosin is directly depends upon the L as item category in PO which is brought by special procuremnt key 30 and if BOM is released.
