Information needed to add a new fields in Existing Objects

Hi Leaders,

Actually we have a requirement to include two fields in the existing Master data Objectas a navigational Object,and i should publish the two new fields in the report.I need to give an estimation for how much time it will take to deploy those fields in BW side.

And i want to know what are things it will get changed as of including the new fields...

Hi Gowrisankar N K ,

The steps involved in this task are as follows:

Source system side (assuming R/3 source system):

1. Enhance the master DS extract structure with new fields.

2. Wrrite the user exit code to populate these new fields.

BW Side:

1. Replicate the DS.

2. Create new IObj (or use standard IObjs if available).

3. Add these IObjs as attribute of the Master data IObj and mark them as navigational attributes.

4. Load Master data (Full).

5. Include the new fields in the report as required.

Now, you can estimate the effort for each step and calculate the time required depending on available resources. Hope this helps.

Actaully all the work was done in R/3 side,Now i have to concentrate in BW side....from your input i got some information....Thanks for the reply..
