Hi,

2.3GB free space may not be sufficient for the user who runs SGEN.

I tried to run SGEN on my system which runs on note PC and

only 1.5GB was available.

Now my file system is full, 100%

and SGEN was not finished.

What I'm doing is buy another disk.

I hope you finish successfully.

Hi mark,

When you run the T code SGEN, it generates the ABAP programs, screens etc. so that whenever you hit any other transaction the system will respond immediately (System will not take long time to display any screen).

Whenever you apply the patches or after installation you need to run SGEN, it is usefull to boost the system performance.

Before running the SGEN, Make sure that your tablespaces as well as OS having enough free space.

Hope this clarify your doubt.

Hi mark,

How can I tell you the exact space requirement? It will take approx 2GB to 20 GB disk space depending on your upgrade/installation

It depends upon your system version, Patch level you update. Also, note one thing it is not harmfull at all. Only thing is that you need to run it as a background job.

Hope this help.

Hi mark,

What is "nothing is displayed"? you wont get any buttons or when you click refresh & click current status you get nothing.

Please explain in brief.
