sap query

hi i have been asked to work on sap query !!can u tell me waht is this !!something called sq01,sq02 etc. my req is the slection fields are matreila no, po doc no,vendor no and the deired output fields are material number,vendor number,po doc no,gr doc no,gr posting date,tax code!!can u give me a sample code for this!!!
