Workflow Deadline Monitoring

Hi Experts,

we have a production issue, the scenario is - we have designed deadline monitoring for some forms,but the deadline monitoring were not happening for some of the forms. everything(Deadline Monitoring) was fine in the quality system but it is not happening in the production system(that too for some of the forms). so in SWU3, we activated the "Scheduled Background job for missed deadlines" . then suddenly huge number of mails started flowing in sost . so now we want to delete those(some old mails) in sost, but the problem here is - some of the mail are real mails and it should not be deleted.

is there any way to proceed with this..
