Maintaining Barcode standards

Hi Experts ,

We are a distributing company and we recieve materials from different manufacturers and distributors having different barcode standards.We would like to customize the RF Device in such a way that we can scan any manufacturers barcode which would help use in knowing the materials inside the box and other

information about the material.

Is this business process possible . If so am i required to maintain all the barcode standards (EAN 128, EAN 13,UPC ,HIBC etc) in my data base.

What responsibilities will be taken care by the ABAP person in this scenario.
