What is the right approach to implement complex custom models and algorithms in Marketing Cloud?

According to my limited knowledge, technically we can create custom algorithms and models based on custom HANA views but these HANA views must be graphical, they can’t be scripted. It means that we can’t use HANA tools like Predictive Analysis Library (PAL) for custom views.

The only idea that comes to mind is to use an external tool, SAP Analytics Cloud looks like a good candidate since it can read data from Hybris Marketing Cloud and it has tools for complex data analysis. So, we use SAP Analytics Cloud to perform complex data analysis but what should we do next to make the results of analysis accessible in Hybris Marketing Cloud for segmentation and recommendations?

Probably we can export and import data manually or synchronize somehow via HCI but this last step doesn’t look like reliable and convenient.

What might be the right approach to implement complex custom models and algorithms in the cloud apart from switching to the on-premise solution?

    Hi Mikhail,

obviously it always depends on your use case in the end. However as a general feedback I can say, that SAP considers the SAP Cloud Platform to be THE Extension Platform around SAP Cloud offerings such as ie. Hybris Marketing Cloud. So yes, application logic etc. could be implemented in SAP Cloud Platform which integrates via the respective integration layer. Data read/ write from/ to Hybris Marketing would be realized via OData APIs (documentation: api.sap.com).

    Regards,

    Matthias
