Hello,

I am new to BI 7.0.

I want to know that if we are doing delta upload then how do we initialize delta in bi 7.0?

As the data is transfered to psa first through infopackage. But is option is comming for delta upload in the infopackage.

Also in the DTP there is no option for initializind delta.

The same way Init is done in 3.X but here the delta is first loaded to PSA only using Infopackage.

Also in the DTP there is no option for initializind delta.

Full fetches all requests from source.

Delta fetches only unloaded requests ( in target ) from source.

If you are running a Full DTP , make sure you delete all requests from PSA/Source before you change/do a Delta DTP as Delta DTP for the first time acts as Init with data transfer.

You can just start off with a Delta DTP directly as no Init is reqd for DTP's.

Hi,

DTPs are used in BI 7 for data transfer within the BI system (EG: PSA to data target). In BW 3.5 you need to run a init delta request to initialize the delta process. You need to do the same in BI 7.0 also. But its done in the infopackage. In 7.0 infopackage will bring the data only till the PSA. After you have the data in the PSA you can do a full load or delta based on your requirement. If you use full mode in DTP, all the requests (recent + older) would be pulled from the PSA into the target. Instead If you use delta mode in DTP, only the recent request would be pulled from the PSA into the target. You'll find the full, delta and init options only in Info Package. Since init option is only for the source system delta initialization you'll find it in IP only. The reason being in BI 7.0 we use IP to load from source system till PSA and from PSA to data targets we use DTP. So, you can find delta and full options in DTP.

Please go through this link to understand the steps:

Hi,

As i know there is no INIT concept in BI7.0, you can proceed with either full loads or delta loads. upto PSA data will be uploaded with Full update from here it will be updated to data target either as full load or delta loads.
