modification of a field dynamically in table control

Hi guys,

please help me out in the following case.

i have populated the contents of my customer details in a table control from my database table. there is a field by name status which has the value 'active' when it is created and 'inactive' when it is deleted from the table control. when i press delete button in my table control screen i want to change the contents in my status field from active to inactive.

please help me out.
