Access to Production Server

HI all,

I have a basic question:

Do funtional consultants have access to Production server and do they make changes there?

My understanding is that we i.e functional people are access to only Dev. and Test servers where they will make and test the settimgs for correctness. After satisfying with the results, these r transported to Production Server by Basis Consultnt, where Core Team Memeber of Client side make actual changes in the Production server.

Plz. clarify this doubt.

Thanks in advance,

Sourav

access to production sever is not usually given to functional consultants but for Abapers everything will be provided, why functional consultants has given bcos for security, when the problem persists in production first we check the problem in producton sever and will work on the issue on test client and once development is completed initial testing should be done in test client by us and the core team test in quality, if the development caters the need of the client then that development is m moved to producton.

    Hi,

Yes funtional consultants have access to Production server but in display mode(Normally), and you can't change there.

And balance what you said is right.

    Rewar if you feel ok.

    Dear Sourav,

Functional consultants are given access to Production server. But before making any changes you need to have the requisite sign-offs from the client.

    Hope this helps you.

Do award points if you found them useful.

    Regards,

    Rakesh
