Difference between ECC5.0 and ECC6.0

May i know the main difference betweeen ECC5.0 and ECC6.0.

Hi Harish,

There is lot of diff b/n ECC5.0 and ECC6.0

MEMORY------->in ECC5.0 we use only 100 to 110GB hard disk Space AND in case of

ECC6.0 it occupies minimum 250GB space.(around 320GB include Dump)

VERSION:

ECC5.0----

ECC6.0----

---

>2005s

DATABASE:

ECC5.0 accept only Oracle 9i

ECC6.0 accept Orace 10g

JAVA COMPONENTS:

ECC5.0 has only one stack

ECC6.0 we can install 4

EXPORT:

ECC5.0 we can install only 8 stacks

ECC6.0 we can install 12 stacks

KNOWLEDGE:

from ECC5.0 onwards we use Java stack that mean it is used as a NW version

ECC6.0 also same.

I hear that ECC6.0 have more fecilities than ECC5.0

SAP ECC 6.0 Installation

For Testing

Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition with Service Pack 1

Disk Size 250 GB

Partitions: five partitions done:

C= 10 GB

D=20GB

E=150GB

F=30GB

G=20GB

Virtual Memory settings made: After setting the total virtual memory (Swap Size) is 11760

J2SDK 1.4.2_12 installed. Environment variable set as JAVA_HOME and path also set.

Oracle installation:

From the Oracle RDBMS DVD (Folder = \NT\I386\database\install)

For Functionality Differences pls refer to the below site -

After opening the site, please select the Source Release Version which is 4.6 b Then Select the Target Release Version which is "mySAP ERP 2005" or ECC 6.0

Select the Solution Area like Financials, Human Capital Management, Sales....

Select module like MM, PP, SD, QM.....

Click on Search

Then it displays the Release Version and the Delta Functionality. which can be downloaded to a word document if required.

and also check the release notes of ECC 6.0 in service.sap.com.

Hi,

Some of the ECC 6.0 New features:

1. Web dynpro for ABAP will supported from this version.

2. New ABAP Editor

3. It runs on Netweaver 2004s where as ECC 5.0 Runs on Netweaver 2004

And

ERP2004 -> ECC 5.0

ERP2005 -> ECC 6.0 -> Netweaver 7.0.
