Activating Basic Shipping or Full functionality of TM 9.5

Have few questions:

With S/4 HANA 1709, is there any business function or configuration to choose between 'Basic Shipping' or 'Full TM functionality'. Customer wants to evaluate both options. I could not find any SPRO configuration, at first glance.

Also When TM 9.5 configuration guide will be available.

Hi Hetal,

There is no such checkbox in 1709 regarding the use of basic and adv shipping of embedded TM (though I find such check box for embedded EWM in 1610 & 1709). Certain features are difficult to interpret whether it falls under basic or advanced. It is better to to contact corresponding Sales person from SAP for that customer in such cases. However, features like use of optimizer etc fall under advanced .

Hello,

my last information is, that there won't be a kind of checkbox or something similar to enable or disable SAP TM or Basic Shipping.

The key will be the functions withing SAP TM which are in use by the company. And this will be measured by SAP via metric logic.

So for example, if you use the planning optimization, then SAP will offer you the SAP TM license.

But the to be honest, the topics about Basic Shipping and SAP TM in 1709 are very hard to find.

Thank you Waldemar, appreciate your reply. Do you have any information about metric logic. I looked at S/4 HANA 1709 feature scope description to compare Basic Shipping vs. Advanced TM for now.
