Basic steps from BW end:
1) Open Query Designer and select the required key figure. Go to the Hierarchy tab in the Properties section, and select the checkbox “Activate Hierarchy Display”.
2) Go to the Default Values tab and make sure that the corresponding Hierarchy Node Variable for that characteristic is added.
