Stock Transport Orders & availability check

Dear Gurus,

In our company, we are using stock transport orders to transfer material from Central Warehouse ( plant A ) to Regional warehouse ( plant B). Plant B always recieves material from plant A, against customer orders or safety stocks.Sales orders are booked at regional warehouse ( plant B ).

We have used the stock transport orders in avaiability check of the sales orders.Delivery date of stock transport order is caluclated as lead time of the material from plant A to plant B + GRN time. But this information does not give clear picture, since acual stock position in plant A is not reflected in Delivery date of stock transport order.

Can any body inform me how actual stock position at plant A can be used in the availability check of the sales order boked in plant B?

Hi,

u have to maintain stock determinatation strategy at plant level,

with combination of plant, material and transaction,

maintain stock determination group for plant

u have to check the stock determination group for material at sales general data view,

u have to maintain stock detrmination rule for movement type at customisation,

maintain determination rule for the application,

maintain priority keys ( which stock is first drawn )

i hope it is useful,

Dear Lakshmi

Thanks for the reply. I will be checking this solution over next week. I will get back to this thread if I encounter any problem or if I am able to get solution for this.

Meanwhile, I have one more related query, In our Central warehouse ( plant A ), we are using Purchase orders to get material from the vendor. We are using shiping notifications to get information about likely date of material availability. Will stock dtermination rule be able to factor in shipping notfications, to determine delivery date of the material in plant B?

Hi Nikhil,

Actual planned delivery date is calculated by " PO processing time + GR processing time ",

by that u have to calculate the shipping available dates,

pls try in this manner ,
